Holistic, from the Greek 'holos' meaning 'whole',
summarises the words Plato wrote two thousand years ago, and yet he could be
describing a present day situation. In holistic healing, the whole person -
mind, body and spirit - is taken into account. Seeing "the whole person" implies
an understanding of a human being as a complicated and particular related
collection of energies. Modern medicine seeks only to treat part of the person,
we need to do more than just treat the sympton......we need to eliminate the
cause of the dis-ease.
